1 Month Internship – Branding Guidelines

“I recently had the privilege of doing a four-week internship with Streetlight UK during my Easter break. I heard about the charity from a friend and then did some research. I read about ‘The Experience’ of another student intern and knew immediately that I wanted to join the team. As my Easter break fell within the Coronavirus lockdown period, I experienced my internship in a unique way. I interned remotely from home and joined a team of lovely people working towards positively transforming the lives of women involved in prostitution. During the internship, I learned so much about what the charity does to support women involved in prostitution and what I can do to continue to show my support once my internship was over.

Working with the London Team at Streetlight UK gave me the opportunity to work as a team and develop job skills such as time management, good communication, and digital literacy. Not only have I gained transferable skills, I have also learned so much about the amazing work Streetlight UK does and the importance of social justice and support for women in difficult situations. In the near future, I will be doing a Digital Media and Society MA at Sheffield University and this internship has helped my journey towards this. The projects I was a part of have supported my academic growth and career plans towards being a Digital Media Strategist. This experience as a student intern has encouraged me to also continue to work hard towards my future plans.”
